I went to check the van yesterday ready to go away. The leisure battery had discharged and the charge indicator on the panel wasn't on. There is power at the hook up point. The trips had gone off so I reset them but the indicator is still not showing. I can charge the battery from the engine running but obviously need to be able to use hookups on site. Any suggestions as to what I may check without having to book into a dealers and miss our time away, please? Once the battery is topped up all of the panel functions work except for the charging.

A common problem is the mains plug into the charging unit comes out. If your 240v sockets are working ok check the kettle type plug. It’s located under the charging unit so not visible unless you go looking for it.

The 240 volt sockets in the van don't work either. I checked the kettle yesterday. I will try to locate the mains plug into the charger thanks.

It's not that plug if the 240v sockets aren't working. Look at your consumer unit or your ehu cable.

So you have no 240 at all then?

Start with testing at the end of the why lead, then if you have 240 going into fuse box /consumer unit, then if you have 240 going into the breakers, then out of them.
Start with the simple stuff first. Such as lead and reset breaker:s

You are over thinking this, it's not a charging problem it's a mains 240v problem. If you don't have any means of testing first thing to do is try a different ehu lead. Have you reset or checked the RCD in the van consumer unit?

As above keep it simple to start.

Does the electric connection show on the touch control panel bottom row next to fresh water level? and the Truma control above bottom right. Is the fridge on in 240v ?

We have the same van.

Apologies. The internal sockets do work. Tried again today but the charging indicator is still not lit up. The fridge is turned off so the only load is the control panel itself.

No electric connection is showing. The fridge is off at the moment.

OK so back to checking the 240v feed to the charging unit which is via the kettle type plug under the charging unit. It also goes via a breaker in the consumer unit.

220v at the plug to the charger but no indicator on the panel . I suspect it needs a new charger. The trip does activate when pressed.

So is the kettle lead pushed all the way home?
Also is power to the end of kettle lead.

I say this as we had a problem a few weeks ago. Very hard to find eventually had to give van to dealers.
It turned out to be a loose connection.
The Positive connections on leisure battery there are also 2 wires with eyelets single screw.
The wires had come out the back of the eyelet
One is the power to the electro block. Charger
Unwrapping some of the loom so you can check that connection.
Could be a similar problem?

Out of interest. Did you get a sort for the problem?

No but it seems almost certain it's the charger. Can't book it in for at least 4 weeks so I'm looking for a new charger to fit myself. I can use the van as long as I drive off each day to charge the battery:) I did check all of the connections and they are fine.
