Hi forum, I've searched through the posts but couldn't find anything useful. Did anyone fit additional reversing or side lights at the rear of the van? If yes, do you have any recommendations? If not, how do you do reverse at night? Most of the times we arrive at night, especially during the winter, and I find it quite difficult to manoeuvre in tight spaces. I can ask my wife to go out, but sometimes I can't even see her :) (the van is 8.5m long)... and also, I trust the mirrors more :wondering:

Operate your hazard warning lights when reversing, and the orange glow will help to illuminate the area to the rear. It works for me at night when reversing 44 x Tonne Trucks in areas where there is no lighting. (y) Cheap and cheerful too. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

I've fitted additional reverse lamps to every van I've owned. And a reverse bleeper . I'm a solo traveller but even if I wasn't I wouldn't rely on anyone else guiding me in to a parking spot.

I learned that lesson aged 17 when my dad's guidance went , OK, OK, OK OK ( big crunch) woah woah woah

Now there's no crunch 😁

I have a camera, but it's not the best indeed. Any thoughts on a "good camera"?

I have a wireless Garmin BC40 camera linked to my Garmin sat nav. Great display day or night and can be used as a rear view mirror whilst driving.
