MH
renting Adventurer 6
Hi all. We are novice motor homers who will be hiring an adventurer 6 to drive to France over the summer. We’d like to bring a few extra bits like body boards for the kids and the like - and so I was wondering about strapping a roof bag onto the motorhome for a bit of extra storage. I understand that in a car these normally are either fixed to roof bars or run through the doors into the car itself and round. However, the adventurer doesn’t have roof bars and the doors approach wouldn’t work either. So does anybody know if such a thing is practicable at all? Many thanks in advance for any suggestions …

Not sure if you can do anything like that without there being some type of fixings on the roof already. The biggest question for me though is does the MH have sufficient payload for you all and your food, clothes etc never mind the extra kit?

Roof racks for motorhomes are rare, you need to consider a trailer. There are lots of trailer hire companies in the UK and Europe. So the task for you will be finding hirers that have towbars. (y)

Don't go over 3m if you want to avoid higher tolls (y)

If it has a bike rack, you can get big rack bags. Be payload conscious.

If the hirer allows you to do any of this?

I would look at a tow bar mounted rack but be aware of weight limits.
