Bailey Advance 76-2T
Hi, where do I start! This is the back story. My husband and I upgraded from our twin axle Odyssey Caravan to a Bailey Advance 76-2T in August last year, only 3,000mi on the clock and one owner (2019 reg). When we picked it up we took it to a site close by to have a few nights in it and set it up, then back to the lockup it went. The next time ouf we went farther afield, Robinhoods Bay, we live in Norfolk. Part way there the engine light comes on. We call Green flag once we pitched up and we end up have to have it towed back to Norfolk. Go back to where we bought it from, they say "it's bad fuel!" not their fault! We argue it is, and win, they fix it free. We have now gone to pick the Moho up for a long weekend and the engine light came on again, and it says the addblue needs filling. We fill it but the engine light is still on.
My husband thinks it may be the addblue filter. He thinks it could be clogged, like the engine was, through being standing, left, for a long period, because the last owner clearly didn't go far in it.if it is, can we change the filter or is it a garage job.
We've had to cancel this weekend away. I'm really gutted and feel like someone up there clearly doesn't like us 😫
Thanks

I had a Bailey peugeot autograph and the adblu pump failed in Germany €1500 as the pump is housed within the tank as a sealed unit.

4 years and only 3000 miles, the add blue has probably crystallised in the tank, if that is the case it will probably need a new add blue tank and pipes, not a cheap job.
Before going into big expenses, try adding a few drops of anti-crystallisation liquid (or whatever it's called) into the add blue tank. It could well sort it out for you.

Just a question have you driven it since refilling and followed the adblue reset procedure for peugeot (involves turning the key but not the engine on for a few minutes with foot on break from memory).

When we refilled adblue for first time on ours (also 2019) it took the reset procedure for it to be recognised. Been fine since.

Annoyingly the tanks are not a sealed unit the pump/sensors electronics are easily removed but parts are not sold separately .I had the gubbins out of mine to cure a leak bit over an hour tank out /gubbins out sealed back in and refitted a tiny sensor or small pump fails and the whole lots of to landfill!

I've bought and now carry an emulator 4 wires 20mins to fit and no more adblue tank or associated sensors or injector (or dash lights)
Haven't tried it yet but will before upcoming trip to Spain..if ok I'll leave it in the glovebox till needed !

Can you post a link to this device please as it sounds like it would be a good idea to keep one in the van

Although I was confident enough to pay £100 for it ,as I haven't tried it I won't do anything to encourage others to buy one untill I have personal knowledge of it's suitability,I will however post all relevant details once I have tried it

No definitely engine
There isn't a filter as such just a mesh strainer in the tank.Unless you have access to a high end ECU scanner then it needs to have the codes read in order to diagnose .If it's not in limp mode adding an anti crystal solution and taking it for a good run may help...if not in limp mode it's most likely an emissions fault won't do any harm to take it for a run...if that do it , maybe go to a main agent for diagnosis ..if it proves to be adblue fault you may get it part paid by Stealantis

You need to check with an obd reader to determine what the fault is. Could be as simple as a sensor somewhere.

Probably as it's not been used. My sons work van had same problem, he called the service company who told him to take it for a good blast which cleared it. So try driving at (legal) speed to Scotland and back.😁

Does that see the adblue system ....many dont
Not having an adblue issue I couldn't say . But have used one for a car and it's been useful in erasing exhaust sensor codes. I bought one for the van . Only to show upthe reasons for a fault should I have one. For £6 ish it's not worth having one. (y)

These Stealantis vans may also have the sgw,but even without most even the more expensive ones don't see adblue or abs or bcm and won't reset any of them either. The cheapest for the dryer to be able to do most probably all is diagbox ( pgot) or eumultiscan fiat.

Happened to me in September in southern France, we’d been pottering around doing short journeys in eco mode for a couple of weeks when it happened. Visited a Fiat Prof garage and he checked the diagnostics, told me it was safe to drive home as long as orange light didn’t turn to red. Got on a motorway and after around 45 mins at 60 everything went back to normal. Don’t use eco mode now!

How do you know the engine light was on because of adblue? If an engine warning light comes on you need to get it scanned to find the fault code and diagnose the problem. Could be anything. With a lack of use (3000 miles in 5/6 years) it could be sooted up DPF filter or soot sensor.

I don't know about the Peugeot but with the Fiat the adblue light will come on when it needs filling but the engine light doesn't .

With the Peugeot it’s usually the engine management light and a message displayed on the dash that issue with adblue and to check handbook.

The refill adblue light is a separate one and doesn’t come on when there is a fault.
