I’m at a loss. The adblu does need added however when I insert the steel funnel into the tanks feeding pipe and pour in the adblue it goes down the funnel but then overflows back out of the adblue tanks neck onto concrete.

Has anyone had this happen and managed to resolve?

Yes there is a flap in the pipe if you look, you need to open the flap to fill👍 I know it’s a stupid setup 🤣

Thanks for reply. Aware of the flap inside the tube and I’m ensuring the funnel passes through this but it still overflows.

Yes, if the funnel is not long enough flap doesn’t open. I pushed a thin screwdriver down side of spout to open flap ( don’t use something that has no head to stop it dropping into tank!)

habe you created an airlock? Wiggle the spout to ensure air gap?

Use an Adblu pump at a garage, no probs, no mess, but not the cheapest. Having lugged the 10l container tried to keep it in place and the filler hose,,, Yea pump.

When you buy a bottle of adblue you get a proper pipe that goes in and opens the flap, you could always cut down the first bottle you buy and make a bespoke funnel if you don't want to keep buying it in plastic bottles.

Funnel is long enough and the flap does open ok.

Does it really need more Adblue? I added a few litres first time light came on but light did not go off so I tried to add more. Then I saw the instructions on the filler flap….. you need to give it time and I think there is a procedure with the ignition key ( can’t remember details and van not accessible)

Unless it doesn’t need refilling and it’s a fault on the system somewhere. Often it’s the same message that comes up with some systems.

Sounds like the funnell is opening the flap but at the same time it's almost filling the pipe so air can't escape as fast as liquid is entering so blows back up the neck

Do you have adblue on your scooter ? Or have you bought a Motorhome ? That with ICE power 🤣

Happened to us when our light come on. I topped it up with 14 litres, followed the reset to the letter, but light stayed on.

Shortly after this the ‘Next time you switch off the engine won‘t start’ message came on. Sure enough engine wouldn’t start. Fiat Camper Assist called, RAC Commercial sent out. The guy spent 2 hours, and had Adblue cascading out of the filler, but still couldn’t get it going.

Recovered to Fiat Professional Garage who sorted the reset.

Hope you have better luck.👍

How many miles do these new fiats/Citroen/Peugeots do on a tankful of ad blu? Wouldn’t like to be carted off to Fiat every fill🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🙄

Mine, a Citroen, seems to have a fault, inasmuch it doesn't now use any Adblue.
Had similar to the OP.
My mechanic offered the logical, if you can't get any into the tank, it's because it's full.
My light went out after I stalled the engine, never to illuminate since.
Passed two MOT's since.

When last filled, how many miles since and how much have you just added.

On any Fiat once the light comes on you should be able to get at least 15ltrs in before it brims

PS: the light some times takes 5 mins to actually go out even when you’ve filled it.

If it really is full then the sensor is kaput

I would be happy enough to drive if i knew i had filled it.

Find a hill and give it the beans, get the engine under serious load to trigger add blue heavy usage. The level sensor may not pick up immediately if the tank is brimmed. When the ecu realises there is no shortage of add blue supply, the light will go out. On next start ups the sensor eventually will find the level.

Since this occurred, I top up every 1000 miles, and it takes 3 to 3.5 litres.👍

Is this something that Multiecuscan can sort out. Do I need to get one?

On our Bailey (Pug) did about 2500 before it needed filling - this was the weekend when fuel prices went silly, had dropped trailer at rally site and went back to nearest filling station ASDA, man in charge of que was not impressed to see a MH, till I explained all I wanted was Addblu, me even less so when I was told it's in the main store not the filling station :mad::mad:.
