I have a 2021 Ducato based motorhome which is pre digital dash. Is there a way to check the Adblue level?
Many thanks.

I don't know the direct answer to your question, but could you take it to an Adblu pump and fill it. Our local Shell garage has a pump and don't mind me just topping up. Better than buying a big plastic drum of the stuff and not needing much - it does have a shelf life.

We have a 2021 ducato. As far as we know there is no gauge of any sort except the knowledge that when the ad lu symbol first lights up you have a good few hundred miles before it will start its countdown. We think ours is using less now than it was. We have read that it is better to fill before taking it out so as we were taking ours for a run the other day we just filled it up before hand although no warning had come on. Got just over 5 litres in

Many thanks for your replies. You have confirmed what I suspected was the case.

It seems like Ducato are upgrading their digital dash every year. We have a 22 Ducato and there is a small adblue image constantly on display which shows the percentage level as it drops. I'm sure someone on here posted an image a few months ago of their 23 Ducato with this now upgrading to a full digital 'gauge' identical to the oil and temperature ones. It's a pity they can't be updated periodically like the uconnect sat nav.

I use multiecuscan to check the adblue levels and other data on our 2020 Ducato

Although our new Ducato based MoHo was shipped to UK in 2nd Quarter 2022, I suspect it was sent from Fiat to the Converter late 2021 and is probably a “2021 Model”. I could not find a display for the AdBlue level, but a careful scrutiny of the Fiat Handbook explained how to do this. Sorry, I cannot remember what I had to do and cannot check as the MoHo is in storage. Suggest you may get your answer from the handbook.

Fiat engineer told me dont worry about levels! Just put 5L max in when light/dash comes on and never fill it up!! Plays havoc with settings etc! And you should never hear suction when removing cap! Clean/change cap if you do hear it ( cost me £1800 that fault!!)

Definitely not, we are going backwards I am sure, less payload as well with adblue
Offset by fuel tank size reduction.
Standard tank is now 65 Lt and long range option 90 Lt it used to be 90 Lt & 120 Lt.
Most converters fit the long range 90 Lt as standard but no option now for a 120 Lt.

Anyone know if there's a map of adblu pumps - much more convenient but pretty scarce.

We purchased an A class Pilote Le Voyageur in July 2022 and it hasn't got a digital gauge on the dash showing how much add blue we have. Since we have owned it I have kept the add blue topped up so we haven't even noticed if it has a warning light that appears when it gets low. On the other hand our friends own the same MH of a similar age but a little bit longer then ours at 8.5 metre and they have a gauge showing the percentage of add blue. The other thing that I find quiet annoying with our MH and our friends is that to get to the add blue filler you have to open the passenger door to be able to fill the tank. What a stupid design as those of you that have spilt add blue know what a mess it can make. I have asked our dealer and Pilote why the filler was put in this stupid position but as yet no one from Piote have come back.

Our 2018 van is on a Peugeot Boxer base it's now done just over 15k miles, there's no Adblue gauge and the warning light came on once which basically meant we had 650 miles to top up the Adblue. We've only just topped up for the 5th time. Since we got that warning light we generally top up every 2500 miles or so, it's surprisingly easy to find a filling station that has an AdBlue pump ..... compared with LPG ;)

The physical fuel tank size is 90l capacity it is limited to 60l capacity by a device inside the tank. It is possible to modify it to return the fill capacity to the full 90 litres. Mine has been modified. The instructions are on the internet somewhere.

Just Curious. Why not?
Some people say don't fill it up.
Some people say always keep it filled up.
I don't think anyone really knows lol.
I top ours up approx. every 1000 miles.
Have done this with our current motorhome for two years and our previous one for three years and never had any problems.

I don't understand what the difference would be. It's a tank - you fill it. If it runs low you refill. Alternatively fill it before you get low. Just like your petrol.

You have hundred of miles to refill after the warning anyway so I really don't find a lock of a level display an issue.

Well, that's what I do.

I keep mine topped up as with my previous comment I don’t trust the digital gauge and don’t want it off the road again for another two months😊
