Chausson Etape 650

I'm a newbie
We have a new Chausson Etape 650line and the adblue advice came up indicating to fill up.
I filled up with 10 litres and the orange warning sentence disappeared. The engine runs and the van drives normally.
But the gauge like a fuel gauge has not gone to full. It is still on halfway.
Any ideas or thoughts please.
Many thanks,
David

I assume that you haven’t filled it completely and the gauge is more of an indicator than a gauge ie it isn’t low nor full so somewhere in the middle.
Try filling up at the pumps and see if it shows full. I find that pumped adblue is easier to do, no spills and the quality should be better as many garages store it near the shop door where sunlight can spoil it.

Thanks for the update. I will try it next time. It's iy the gauge hadn't changed it's level despite 10 litres going in?

As said, I suspect it’s an indicator rather than a gauge. Many so called gauges on modern vehicles work like this. Coolant temperatures showing cold, normal or hot but no incremental changes in between them.

Alternatively 10l is about half the tank (A fiat chassis capacity is 19l according to Dethleffs (another manufacturer using same chassis)). May have come from factory near empty?

Use a pump at a petrol station and fully fill next time would be my advice. 10l is approx half a tank if it was truely empty.

Should add we just filled our Boxer chassis, and from first warning to refull it took 9l ... But the first warning is approx 1500 miles remeainning, so I feel more confident running it a bit longer on the alarm now.

Fill at the pump until it’s full, I’ll bet the gauge will soon go up.

Thank you for your replies.
The gauge was full when we received the motorhome and I have seen it gradually go down like a fuel gauge.
It is booked in for a check by a Peugeot dealer as it's under warranty.
They will do a diagnostic, but think it could be a faulty sensor or gauge.
However I may well fill it up before I take it in just to see!
Thank you.
Kind regards
David
