I've bought the physical CampingCard ACSI book from Vicarious Books, and I think I now need to buy an app on the ACSI site - is that correct? (I've tried just downloading from the App Store, but I can't find a way to create a login in the app).

And if I do, which one is it?

The CampingCard ACSI app for €3.99
https://webshop.acsi.eu/en/campingcard-acsi-app-2023.html

Or the CampingCard ACSI app (Motorhome Pitches) for €5.99

I'm on iOS. And I've downloaded the app, it's how to login to it. The website says I have to pay them for access to the app, but I don't know which one.

Well get an android phone much easier😂😂😂😂😂

You pay for App extra, mines included in my subscription.

So on Android you just download the app and use it? Or do you have to pay on the website for the app?

You log in by clicking on the my details bit in the menu. If you have subscribed it let's you then download everything.

The trouble is, like I said in my post, I don't have a login and I can't see how to make one. So do I need to buy the app on the ACSI website? And if I do, which app, as there are two? Maybe I need some help from someone who has done it without the subscription. Because I bought the physical book first, I just don't have a login.

There is. You enter it into the website, and it then shows you a choice of two apps, as I describe above. I want to know which one to buy.

That is the one that doesn't mention motorhomes. I wonder if it's different if you have a sub.

Anyway, I read it all again with my husband, and it read as if you need to pay for the motorhomes as an extra, so we added both to the basket. Probably wrong, but I needed to get on and do it.

If anyone else is coming from just a book purchase - what happens is that when you buy the app (or rather access to it) on the website, you create a login when you do so if you don't already have one. Then you can login with that email and password on the app itself, and it knows that you have purchased access.

There isn't a way to buy the app access from the app itself - probably so that they can cheat Apple out of their percentage.

I bought my card from the acsi web shop. When you checkout they ask for your email & set a password this is your login

The first app lists the ACSI Card sites - ie the ones listed in your book. The second one is an add-on which also shows Aires etc, ie beyond what the book shows.
We use the second one, because it’s handy to see alternatives to ACSI sites on one map. It also has useful photos, so you can generally get some idea of the type of aire, ie is it just a general car park or a dedicated aire. (We dislike S4S.)
Find it useful, although sometimes I do curse having too many sources of information!

Thanks! Exactly the info I was looking for. So we do now have both, but next year maybe don’t need to.

In addition to buying the App, you need to register on their website; it’s this that enables the App login.

They have more than one website that complicates things. From recollection there’s a well disguised hyperlink on their shop website that you select if you already have the book/app; they don’t make it easy!

I went round and round the houses trying to do the same, gave up in the end, I think the website is a bit crankey as it didn't like my details and I have been using them for a few years now.

I've always found the ACSI site convoluted and confusing. If anyone could post a link to the Aires App, that would be most helpful.

Ignore this, I've just found it up-thread.

Well it sounds 🤷 OK until you read all the T&Cs it says that you can only purchase the app at £5.99 if you've Already purchased and have the current ACSI guide so I can't really see the point of forking out for the app as well.......just my thoughts.

Eureka eventually got their web pages to accept my order for the app and it seems to be working. Found a link almost hidden away on a page after I signed into my account with them. Put the code in from the card and after comfirmation email it was working.

Yep, as mentioned in my earlier post, they don’t make it easy for you. 👍

In my case, they didn't help by delaying indicating my active (App) subscription for nearly two weeks. When I phoned them they indicated that a number of UK orders had been affected and they didn’t know how long it would take to sort that glitch out.
