Heading to Italy in June, is it worth getting this card as I thought it was just for low season discounts. Thanks

June is low season when it comes to the ACSI card, July and August are when it cannot be used but it does vary, I’ve been on French sites mid July using the card.

We are off to Spain and Portugal later this month and through March. Is this card useful for sites in Portugal?

It’s always beneficial to buy the ACSI book which contains the card if you are touring outside of late July and August,, however, if you are staying on one site for a few weeks you may get a better deal from the site.

Out of interest where in Italy are you heading.

The acsi app is worth a look. Even though you need the card from the books to get the campsite discount

Thanks all. We are simply heading to Portugal for a few weeks. No particular plan except to go down the west coast. We typically stay 4-5 days in places and see how it goes. Any recommendations for sites or aires are very welcome 😀

IMO it is worth getting the card and app... I used it for 2 trips last year in May to July and sep/Oct and was great if you are staying on sites... even of out of season sites accept it as id.... more importantly, the sites show when open and lots of reviews by users to help decide where to stay...

We absolutely loved THIS campsite in almost the dead centre of Portugal. It was ACSI to but I haven’t looked on the App for it now to check openings etc.

We did it in May one year, arrived for 2 nights and stayed for 10. Very rural surroundings and unbelievably good Portuguese managing family who may be the owners now.

Had three weeks on Portugal. Only stayed on ACSI sites or over ight on Portugal Easy Camp. If you've not heard of the latter, look it up. Had some great overnights out of it!

As others have indicated, the applicable dates can vary from site to site. You can check on the ACSI website the precise dates the discount card is accepted at any given campsite.

Make sure you spend a few days at least in Foz do Aurelho campsite on beach now 6 euros per night i,m afraid. 😎
Its North of Lisbon before you reach Nazare for your surfing..

We were in Italy last September, October and November. We only used one campsite but used Agricamper quite a bit. Have a look at Agricamper, it might suit you. You can see our travels at www.therumrunners.co.uk to see some of the places we stayed.

Weird;y enough we are in Portugal now and every time I have presented the card they said it’s cheaper without, have written to ACSI to seek clarification and does seem very strange

Brilliant. Plenty of places it sounds to visit which is very useful for our plans 😀

We had ACSI for years, but now seldom stay on sites, but even when we did many discounts were not great. I have just booked a site near Bordeaux for a few days over Easter week as meeting family there, and less than 10euro a night for two adults, the dogs put it up a bit though.

We found sites in Portugal do not start ACSI rates till mid September whereas its normally end of August or beginning of September everywhere else.

Campiing alvor at alvor was there 3 weeks ago rustic site it’s had some negative feedback but the site is really good highly recommend it.

We are in Spain having just toured down through Portugal. We used several of the Orbitur sites. Good showers hot water etc. Used ACSI card but sometimes their own low season rates were better. If going to South can recommend Camping Albufeira and Motorhome Ecopark at Sao Bras de Alportel.

Did you stay at Obitur Évora and if so what was it like? We are intending to stay there beginning of March

I’ve stayed there, perfectly good site on the outskirts of Evora. Level walk into town, about 1 mile? I doubt there’s any mulberries on the trees in March, but if so avoid parking under them.

Can't understand why you have to pay for dogs anywhere...its just a rip off...its not like my dog uses the showers or hot water...and I pick up her mess...so what do I pay for....
Maybe I should put her in the showers ...🤣🤣🤣
