Hi Funsters,
The weeks and days are slowly (very slowly!!) ticking down until Debz and I embark on our first European tour in mid June.
A while back Debz noticed there is a Queen show in London on the Friday before our mid-day Saturday ferry crossing from Dover to Dunkirk, so we booked it up. Having previously stayed at the CAMC Abbeywood site, I booked us in with a view to leaving very early to get down to the ferry. However, I've remembered that the barrier on the site is not opened until 08:00, and looking on Google map it is a run of 67 miles from the site to the ferry port, that it says takes approximately 1hr 20mins - assuming there no traffic jams!! This leaves 21/2 hours(ish) to get through the ferry process.
Do any of you have any views on whether this is cutting things too tight? Having not crossed from Dover before, and seeing the chaos that happened at Easter, I'm wondering if there are going to be long queues and delays it would be better if we were to arrive at Dover a lot earlier - although I'd have to find somewhere to park the Motorhome for the show.
Appreciate any advice and suggestions.
Cheers,
Gaz
