I've not used it yet, but I have got a toll tag fixed on the windscreen 🤞 it works and I don't get a big bill

It says 3 ways to pay.

One is the liber-T toll tag.
The second is to pay on line.

What is the third ??

Do the Frulli Toll tags work ?
As they are French (But also can work in Spain, Portugal and Italy)

Free-flowing motorways: how to pay?

Today, you pay the toll as you travel. With free flow and the removal of toll barriers on the A13 and A14 motorways, you travel first and pay later. It's up to you to choose the method of payment that suits you best, and when, as long as you respect the 72-hour time limit after passing through..

Several payment solutions are available :

1- Automatic payment by detecting the Liber-t electronic toll tag

Every time you pass through a gantry, as long as it's securely attached to your vehicle's windscreen. You don't have to do a thing: thanks to your subscription, your toll expenses are deducted from your bank account every month.

2 - Online at

  • Payment after each journey, within 72 hours, by entering your number plate.
  • Automatic payment from your Sanef customer account, in which you will have registered your vehicle number plate and your bank card.

3 - Physical payment

At one of the payment points in the approved Nirio network using the vehicle's number plate, no later than 72 hours after your journey.

Reading the information it says a toll tag, so I'm assuming any valid toll tag will work 🤞

That is my reading of it as well, but considering there are only two or three toll tag systems, it's very odd that they only mention one of them.

If gantry scanners are the future, does that not save faffing about with toll tags and subscriptions?
I find avoiding tolls for the most part leads to more interesting journeys.
Without a toll tag you will need to remember every toll road you have used and log on to pay in good time.

I got a Fulli toll tag when the A79 first became a free flow autoroute a few years ago. However, the blessed tag was so unreliable that I handed it back in last summer. About 70% of the time the tag would beep when passing the detectors but around 30% not at all and the Aliae website showed that we owed money. So I'd say be careful as the tags can give a false sense of security. Maybe check the autoroute operator website the first few times you go free flow just to be sure.

Done this back in October, paid online and even argued with the online system about the class of our 6 wheel motorhome..

I said we were class 4 they insisted we were class 2 ?
Anyhow gave in to their superior knowledge and paid.
Anyhow quick note, if you do just the first junction going south, you might not even realise you are on it, but you are. Signage is not very clear and those pesky French put the signs up in French and not English!! The cheek.of it.
Good job I'm fluent in French....

Oh and it's quite cheap...

Or it suggests you can register an account with a card attached to it.

IMO it is basically progress and it will stop all the single travellers with the steering wheel on the wrong side blocking the place up while they scramble across

Hi just received a email from bip and go say they should all work OK on the free flow tolls.
I tried to copy and paste but it returned to French.
