We want some where to go for a long weekend in December for a real Christmas feel with lights and so on and would rather have small individual shops not just boring high street ones. For medical reasons I can’t drive more then around 60 miles and we live not far from junction 3 M5. Hard standing would be good but we don’t need ehu and a site in the town is preferable or a short taxi ride, even a bus stop would do. I did think about Tewkesbury but the club sites closed😩.
Thanks

Well a trip to the Cotswold would meet your requirements.

Broadway high street is very pretty in December. Otherwise Moreton in Marsh will also look lovely, Stow on the Wold or Burford ( stay at wysdom touring park as it’s nearer). There is also Bourton on the Water , think you can stay at the rugby club ?

They all have lots of individual small shops.

Hidden Valley, Ilfracombe. Open all year, bus stops at the gate gets you to Barnstaple which has a lot of one off shops and the Pannier Market.

The drive might need some stop offs though.

Hereford rowing club has a CL which is 5 minute walk to the lovely city centre with lots of shops and places to eat as well as a covered market. On grass, but it seems well drained. Showers and toilets in their changing rooms can be used. They have an all you can eat breakfast buffet at weekends.

Chester has a nice Christmas market and it's only a short walk from Little Roodee car-park where you can overnight. Might be a bit more than 60 miles though.

Powys allows overnight stays on many of their council carparks, places like hay on wye, Brecon, welshpool etc.
Stratford upon avon. Parking at the leisure centre
Chester. Little roodee car park
Shrewsbury. Frankwell car park, allows overnight and short walk over bridge into town.
Hereford. The rowing club but i have also heard there is a car park where it is allowed.
