A true 'Why not to be a carravaner' story.

I know of 1 lady who wont allow the kitchen to be used either, hubby has to BBQ outside no matter what the weather, they don't use the loo either, otherwise seem perfectly sensible people.
being able to use own facilities was a big +factor for buying our motorhome.
One day they will go wild camping in the Highlands and one day he will return in the van on his own. And in the Highlands will be a shallow grave and he will start to use the cooker and the loo. Lol

What a flipping faff!
Having paid a small large fortune for a van with very comfortable facilities you don’t use them? :Eeek:
Just open the blade valve and carry on, no lining the bowl and definitely no trudging to the manky site loos in the rain.
We use our van a lot, at least a 150+ nights a year, and haven’t used a site loo or shower for donkeys years.

PS. Having a SOG we also don’t use those expensive and ‘orrible smelling chemicals either. :)

Doesn’t a SOG just vent the smells towards the neighbours van?

It's a cadac not a real BBQ so does need a swill, we stopped eating at a freinds house after seeing them give the paella pan to the dog after we had had ours. Put John right off.

There's a Brit owned campsite in the Murcia region of Spain that used to do just that. We NEVER ate anything they produced.

They are supposed to be better now, but I wouldn't trust them, EVER!

Our logic is based on where we are going. If the best place for us to visit a place is a CMC all facilities campsite then being Yorkies we like to get what we’ve paid for then we’ll use the site facilities. Unless it’s cold dark or wet outside. However most occasions the best and cheapest camp is a rally or THS and we are happy using our own.

Do the people who won't use the bathroom in their caravans also refuse to sleep in the bed or cook in the kitchen? Same logic. Perhaps they spend their whole holidays sat in the awning (surrounded by their barbecue parafernalia and big washing up bowls) that took them hours and a divorce pending to erect. Perhaps they don't use the brakes on the car because they might wear them out? Never take the polythene off the seat covers and sit in their own bum sweat? I really don't get it, how you can pay for something then not use it.
Just as strange are those who store their motorhome carpets in the loft and then have carpets made up to go in the van

If we're staying somewhere with decent facilities then we'll use them - it saves having to fill/dump water and empty the cassette so often. But we've no problem using our own if its more convenient.

Same as we sometimes eat out rather than using our own cooker.
Yikes, that’s such a reasonable post! On a poo thread as well, gosh!
