We were getting cabin fever at home when Margaret (M) noticed a short weather window on the east coast of Scotland so decided to head north for a few days.
Day1 Wed 5th Feb.
Headed north on M6, diesel at Asda Carlisle, £1.43.9/l and on up A7 into Scotland.
Nice ride alongside the Teviot to Hawick...
Where the woods were full of snowdrops...
Pitched up at the Aire at Hawick..
Quick sandwich, then had a walk in Wilton Lodge Park, next door to the Aire.
Even in wintertime this is a beautiful park although it had suffered a bit with Storm Eowen...
A few trees down, but being cleared up. I bet this one came down with a crack!!
Some beautiful specimen trees...
First signs of Spring on its way....
A couple of memorials to local Hero's..

Adjourned to Wetherspoons for a couple of pints of Belhaven 80 Shilling ale, a pizza and a steak! Very Nice.

. Great pics of the park it is a good walk and a great location.It is good when the Reivers festival is on ,if you get dry weather.
