A photo of the day thread

I cycle through Farleigh Mount country park a lot. Sometimes it's a squeeze to get past a car on my bicycle.

Ah yes, didn't admit to my 'woman driver' moment... There's plenty of car parks around but, not knowing the area, I went for the tightest one, of course. May go back there to discover the area some more, in hopefully better weather, as only 2hrs drive from home, will choose one of the bigger car parks then! There were sufficient passing places along the road getting there and didn't go too far along the Roman road.

Second picture with the water and reflection was my preference.

Rydal Water, Cumbria - couldn't decide between these two:

Both are stunning pictures. Personally I prefer the first picture as the colouring on the bank gives it more depth.

Was the second picture taken from along the coffin route?
Both of them were, not very far apart (y)
Parked (& paid) by Rydal church, up the hill, short way along the coffin road and dropped down by the car park & across the bridge between Grasmere and Rydal Waters, then round Rydal and back to Rydal Hall tea shop for hot choc & cake in front of a blazing log-burner... what a lovely, undemanding walk :)

I love that walk, have done it a few times.

We had to laugh on one occasion .. we usually dress sensibly when walking and were surprised to meet, half way along the route, a coach load of geriatric Chinese coming the opposite way, all dressed in light dresses, flip flops & carrying parasols.

That's the Lakes for you...

Last year I came across a couple doing the typical Chinese pre-wedding photos in a field full of sheep just outside Hawkshead - full wedding outfits despite the mud; and of course all the tourist attractions have their info translated into Chinese, Japanese & Taiwanese rather than French, German or Spanish

Today's walk down on the coast near La Azohia on a sunny day with @jumartoo and jumar.

Brussell Sprout overdose, lack of Marmite and too much Gin have prevented me from linking this lot to
you lot.

In all honesty driving across it feels no different from any other stretch of motorway. You can't see anything to either side. It only becomes apparent from above or below just how amazing it is.
