Good morning everyone - seasons greetings and all the best for the coming year. We had a stranger visit our bird feeders and I managed to get a couple of pictures (of dubious quality but shooting from an upstairs fanlight window while trying to remain unobtrusive . . .) Not seen anything like this before and wonder if the twitchers amongst the funster community might have an idea of what species this is?

Looks a bit like a Woodpecker to me.

Depending on size it could be a Great Grey Shrike.

More than likely an Azure Tit……..

Very few sightings in the UK (afaik)🤔
Possibly a bit large - Azure Tits are Blue Tit size……

I was going to say Albino Blue Tit but I think your right! 😄

PS. As Azure is a form of blue, isn't an Azure Tit really a Blue Tit? 🤔

I think it's a pale coloured or leucistic Great Tit. The white cheeks, greenish shoulder and darker wing tips all look typical Great Tit.

We occasionally get long tail tits here. They are like tiny pink powder puffs.

And the yellow hammers are often mistaken for canaries!!

Same here, sometimes in flocks during the colder weather, the long tail tits are such beautiful birds

I love watching birds but am in no way a twitcher. Just like watching them interact.

When on strong pain medication I hallucinate and am always very happy when my bird friends come to accompany me on my weird trips. The devil and demons are less welcome but I have developed ways of coping with them. Most demons are unable to factorize quadratic equations so I set them quizzes. Sorry for the thread drift - blame the medication.
