WANTED A frame

I've got one I don't use anymore and need to sell. (Changed car and MH).
It's from Armitage's in Ferrybridge. It has a jockey wheel. I towed a '62 plate Aygo with it. You screw eyelets in to the front of the car and thread a round pole through to attach. (You're better looking at their website!)

Is it for touring Spain?

Quite a bit of modification has to be done to the front panel of the SMART - just getting the A Frame is less than half the answer.

Thx all. Sounds like hubby needs to do a bit of research. We are looking to tow in this country as if go abroad we probably wouldn’t use it.

Always good to have a newbie refresher on A frames

A frames are made up of two parts
1. The Actual A frame
2. The vehicle specific A frame mount

It should be explained to those new to A framing that any A frame will fit any Car
PROVIDED the specific car A frame MOUNT is supplied with it, or is available.

Otherwise two options are available

1. Make your own mounting system to suit your newly bought A frame

2. Get an A frame MOUNT professionally made to suite cost circa £500 with cable brakes

Braking systems are not really optional! you should have an operational braking and breakaway system
My personal A frame is UN braked but served by a fully automatic in car American system

Armitage’s told me they would move an A frame kit from one car to another, so it may be worth you both (@Wendo55 and @Haitchjay ) enquiring with Armitage’s to get a cost for fitting this one. Their normal new cost is around £900 supplied and fitted. I used to have an Armitage’s in a Smart, now I have Towbars2Towcars on a Fiat 500. The Armitage’s Jockey Wheel is useful for hitching but the frame is quite heavy to put away.

You do need it to be braked. Armitage’s uses s mechanical link to the tow car brake pedal. T2T uses an electronic sensor that activated the tow car brakes when it senses retardation
