I`ve got a few days off next week and had planned to go to Gower in Wales but weather forecast is looking a bit wet, much better is the south east so decided on going to Norfolk / Suffolk.
Can anyone recommend nice towns, villages, interesting sights and beaches ?
I`ll probably head to Cromer and take it from there, never been before.
Thanks

The beach at Happisburgh is often lined with seals which may be of interest.

We are in Norfolk now if you visit Snettisham there’s a great display by the waders as the tide comes in and some really nice walks we stayed a Diglea campsite very close to beach, now at Deepdale backpackers & camping a really nice site and walks out accross the salt marshes and Brancaster Harbour.
The weathers lovely at present and the birding and wildlife is great.(y)(y)(y)

Thorpeness, Southwold and Aldborough areas on the Suffolk coast are very nice .

Suffolk is rubbish.. stay well away.. ;)

see my post Broken Link Removed

Woodbridge is lovely market town.. good selection of interesting small shops, good selection of pubs and a lovely waterfront.

The Tide Mill , a working flour mill, is worth a visit, check opening times.. https://woodbridgetidemill.org.uk

you can park your Hymer in the car park behind the Deben Leisure centre , near the rail station.

Sutton Hoo, National trust is also worth a visit https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/sutton-hoo
parking for van no problem.

WW2 Bawdsey Radar Station is open Thursday and Sunday.. (my wife is a volunteer) ..
free parking, plenty of space for the Hymer..

you can also park at Bawdsey Quay, in the lay-by , you can stay overnight if you so desire.. very quiet and peaceful. see photo

Suffolk Coastal is well worth exploring.. there are several good campsites, http://www.runcottage.co.uk http://www.shottishamcampsite.com

Holt is a lovely place - good restaurants and coffee shops. Byfords is a special one. All of North Norfolk on the coast is a delight but beware some of the "main" roads are a tad narrow.

Thornham has three lovely pubs plus Thornham Deli ( next to the village hall on the outskirts).

Drove Orchards between Thornham and Holme next the sea is a superb farm shop and at the moment PYO for apples, pears and plums. On the site is a fantastic fish and chip shop open from 12.00 every day - Eric's.

We live 20 minutes from Wells-Next-The-Sea and regularly drive over there and this is one of the reasons why....
