If any funsters are going to the motorhome show I would like to ask a small favour please.
I fancy a 360 view camera system on my swift 310 van and would be interested in any prices or discounts being offered at the show.
Thanks in advance.

What is the advantage (apart from the obvious)
Of a 360 camera

This looks like a bargain

It looks very dodgy……….
edit: it’s just a 4-camera combiner, isn’t it……? No fancy software to combine the image, just 4 camera views…….?

Yep - a 360° view

I know several people who have the proper one and it was quite expensive and not an easy install. I achieved a result I'm happy with by placing small cameras in strategic places (for me) for a lot less.

Can I suggest starting a new thread and call it something like " 360 camera system" you will probably get more input from actual users.

Possibly………. ;)
….but to say ‘bird view’ could be a trifle misleading - unless the bird is standing on the ground…..!

Could not live without my 360 system when manouveuring in tight spaces. Not cheap professionally installed and it does need software and calibration to give you that 360 view.

I have a 360 installed and i am not that impressed with it, the views can be confusing but for me and the main reason why i purchased it was the ability to be able to use it when stopped to see what's going on outside. This is useless as when there are no lights the camera's cannot pickup anything as they need external lights to work, so most of the time its recording black, the company have been good at responding and they are looking at ways to improve it with additional motion triggered lights but this is an extra expense over and above the costly install. Just be sure it does what you need and if that's seeing whats around you whilst driving then this will be fine, once it starts getting darker that's a different matter.

Which system do you have? Mine is good in the dark and switches views when overtaking. does not work when engine is off - extra module required for this, and I don’t have a recorder - nowhere to put it.

Putting the Teyes system in or Vario.

That seems to work OK, the images look a bit confusing at times but you can certainly see where the front wheels are placed with the cameras being in the wing mirrors, the front and especially rear camera looked a bit low on his install but again I guess you could raise them up a bit.

I admire the tech but can't see why the that guy really needs it. He says when he indicates left or right the screen shows him a wider view but why not just look out the window as normal? Why take you eyes off the road whilst driving to see what the system is showing you? He also says he wanted it for entering his narrow driveway before completely ignoring it.

The birds-eye view would be handy for parking but pointless for vans that size or smaller in my opinion.

I have the trailer vision omni 360 HD, it has a 1tb sd card for video's and a switch for when parked up so it records when stationary which is one of the main reasons why i wanted it, can't fault the company though as they have been very good at trying to resolve it but its going to cost more which i did not bank on. My requirements were clear before i ordered so i am a little disappointed that it's not working how i wanted it too.
