Hi, not quite sure which makes/models are suitable but we are just starting to look for an A Class with a rear lounge. Budget is £30k (just sold our coach built van) and should be RHD and had thought Hymer, Dethleffs or similar German build but open to suggestions.

Happy to take our time and travel to find the right van if anyone has something suitable out there.

Thanks
Nick

You would have more choice if you were flexible with the steering wheel side, but best of luck anyway.

Agree with Martin, left hooker easy to drive to and a benefit if going abroad.

A few Hymers do a rear lounge, B634 is one but the shower floor is the toilet floor too and I don't like this set up.

On the whole it will be a very occasional trip to Europe so that's why I think RHD is better for us. I'm not too bothered with driving LHD though so if the right layout came up for us and it was LHD, it wouldn't be aa major problem.

If you get a rhd the toilet shower wardrobe may be on the nearside, which makes it very difficult to see at junctions.
Just a thought.

To get you going

Hymer b534 in budget
Hymer b634 in budget
Delthleffs I3 just in budget
Rapido 9010df 40k plus

Moorlands in preston had a b634 & camperuk in lincoln had a 9010df both recently
BCS manchester & Alan kerr have got I3's.

Do a bit of googling for those models.

Is that because the drying towels are hanging from the washing line on the outside? :D

How about this one. OK it's 10% over budget but haggle, haggle, haggle.

We got our Hobby from there.

Hi, thanks for suggestions. Yesterday we had a look at a Globebus and think its a bit too small for us. Also looked at a Niesman & Bischoff Arto with a rear lounge but strangely there wasn't a rear window at all and the sides were quite small high level units too so not much use for enjoying the views if using the rear lounge.

@Nico What sort of age are you looking at for your budget?

Hi, we had a 2009 van previously and were looking around 2003 onwards for an A class. The rear lounge option is definitely limiting the ones to consider even if we wanted to spend a lot more. So we are now looking at ones with a large lounge areas around a central dinette, with at least one decent length sofa to relax on
