Adria sonic 700 sl p
Hiya
I have recently registered on the site but use the forum to find out valuable information on many occasions. We have been lucky to find a purchase a Adria Sonic 2017 which is really nice MH. I am struggling to find a supplier/ manufacturer of mirror protector for the MH has the drivers side mirror is already cracked via the previous owner but has kindly provided a replacement mirror. I wanted to find some mirror protector before I fit the new mirror to ensure it doesn't happen again, any suggestions would be appreciated

:welco:

Not aware of any made for A Class, problem is every manufacturer uses their own design for the mirrors so not not a big enough market like there is for standard van mirrors.

The usual protection method is knowing they cost £££ to replace and then just being ultra careful with them. Also If you’re moved from a non-A class then you probably like i was, used to the Ducato long arm mirrors which stick out a long long way, and that at a height the same as all other vans on the road. Your A-class mirrors are at least at a different height and unlikely to clash with most things unless you meet a Eurocargo type small truck…..

I haven't found any protectors for coach style wing mirrors for my A-class over 10 years. It might be worth asking a local coach firms how they protect their wing mirrors, if at all. I suspect they just drive professionally based on daily miles. When I asked the winning owner at the Blackpool UK Coach Rally in April 2019, he said every driver had at least two-week experience in any new coach and regular practice/assessment thereafter. What motorhomers do we have?.

When I asked my brother what shall I do - he drove lorries, buses, and coaches - he said drive carefully, not as fast as motorhomers do! And carefully position the motorhome on the road, especially for oncoming corners. My bother told me to buy suitable low cost mirrors like lorry and buses firms do.

Lorries steel wing mirrors exist but they look awful - try Kuda Automotive.

A dashcam will minimise the cost of damage if another vehicle damages your wing mirror.

I have found Aclass mirrors to be at risk from trucks. Protectors don't seem to be available. As Aclass are the same width all the way it helps to have the mirrors as close to the body as possible. They still work but less likely to be hit than if they're sticking out.

Thank you very much for your feedback and suggestions, appreciate the one about driving carefully 😂.
I recent visited the caravan & motorhome show at the NEC and a exhibitior call van comfort had AClass mirror protector on their stand but they only fit a Hymer A class. I did speak with them and they suggested I send some photos & measurement after the show, has they may consider developing other options but I got a no thanks response.
I will give mirror armour a try. I know from experience with our last motorhome which was a Adria coach build how expensive it is to replace wing mirrors so just wanted to ensure I don’t have a much larger bill if I don’t have a problem. I will drive carefully in the meantime. Thank you and I will update if I am successful in find a option

You could try emailing this company they don't list on the website all the ones they make.

I contacted them to see if they had any for my Carthago (as new they are £900). Although they do some A class protectors they don’t do any for Carthago yet.
