Snowy the Sheep has arrived safely at Linton Lock to meet up with the Funsters.

Apparently those who dwell in hills and other Cheshire-ish places brought their famous rain with them last night - even chucked a bit up the road to Tees-side. Gallant Snowy, though, had dried up Middlesbrough by Noon so it has been fine since we arrived at about 1:15. Three cheers for Gallant Snowy - Hip Hip................ Oh, all right, have it your own way then :Eeek:

Geo took the usual Fun precaution of handing out name badges so that Funsters have at least half a chance of remembering who they are after the pub later on. Could be hard work in the pub though - main thing will be to try to cure Steve (Scran) of his natural shyness :Rofl1::Rofl1:

Last night's rain was well behaved - waited until we got back from the pub - and it is now bright and sunny.

Geo said there would be beer and he was right - consumption of beer compulsory. For some reason they wanted coin of the realm though.

Scran was elected chairman, when he had a chair that is, and proved that he was the pictured bagpiper by what he did with a cushion.

Geo said something about fairies at 11am today. Seemingly some strange comestible tradition from Mansfield.

More later. It would have been more earlier but it wasn't.

Glorious sunny day down by the Ouse.

Pammy gave us her strict schoolmarm impression this morning with the Quiz of the Week and Bill (Tick59) isn't certainly isn't wining at the outcome.

Butch and Sundance did their act this afternoon, despite the absence of Sacha Distel to provide a soundtrack.

We were later treated to a demonstration by Steve (Scran) of how to pick up Australian satellite broadcasts using a totally disconnected satellite dish. Isn't scientific progress abysmal :Rofl1:

Snowy the Sheep is now back home in Middlesbrough.

Many thanks to all the Funsters who made the weekend so good, especially Pammy & Geo for the organisation and elevenses.

Many thanks also to everyone - and special thanks to Pammy & Sally - for making today special for me.

Hi Graham and all the funsters that made the Linton Lock weekend one big smiley weekend, (Thanks Jim for the name badges).

Also a big thank you to Pammy and Geo, who put in all that work so we could all enjoy oursleves.

Watching Graham hoist the flag we just thought "so there`s the Black Sheep then" :Rofl1:

What about that Geordie lot, excellent bunch put a smile on everyones face...
Tiggi said thanks for dinner so much better than her dried biscuits. :thumb:

Huh - we're the ones with the hosepipe ban.

Got back to cloudless sky and hot sunshine and no wind.

And 2 whining cats.

It's all over

Hi all

Just to say a big thanks to all those funsters who turned up for this meet (this one being the last one for us to organise for the time being).

It was a great meet as usual with the most fun being down at the pub on both Friday and Saturday evenings. Some even went back for thirds on Sunday.

The weather looked a bit iffy on the Friday morning but the rain had stopped by the time we got to the Loch. It remained cloudy for the rest of Friday but on Saturday and Sunday the sun shone all day.

Linton Loch is a really nice location to visit but as Rob (robnchris) has stated in a previous thread it can be a bit pricy if you are paying for showers as well.

The pub is pulling pints until 1am on Friday and Saturdays so as you can imagine a lot of alchohol was consumed on both evenings. There were a few bad heads on Sunday morning (mine included - I will never learn).

The pub also offers a good menu with very reasonable prices - an 8 oz sirloin steak with all the trimmings cost £8.95, steak and ale pie with chips, 3 veg was £6.95 (could have been £8.95 not sure now). They have a childrens menu, lunches, full breakfast £5.00.

I think everyone enjoyed it, no one seemed to be in a rush to leave, we left at 3pm with a few still there. A couple of units were staying over until today lucky devills.

We've taken some photos for the album - they may be on the forum later when Geo has had the opportunity to upload them.

See you at Newark and/or Lincoln.

Pammy

thanks Pammy & Geo

Love n Hugs
Andy
