I know many friends who will be compromised by the 90 day max stay rule, even those of us who have residence in Schengen countries will doubtless have to spend time and energy on explaining our presence. I usually spent 100-120 days down in Spain every winter. We normally stay on 2 or 3 Camping & Caravan Club Winter Sun sites.(C19 having cut this short this year).

So why not do what we can to get this rule diluted for Motor homing Snowbirds?

If we email our known sites asking "We are hoping to come down to (Playa Tropicana, Marjal, Faro, Bella Vista [Insert any known sites]) staying XX days with you, but understand this won't be possible due to Schengen rules limiting our overall stay to less than 90 days, is this correct?"

Then hopefully they will get the idea that they will be loosing a lot of custom and apply pressure on their tourist boards to get the rule relaxed for MoHo owners?

If they get a few hundred such emails, it could make a difference.

Will sites really be losing out, it might give people the chance to get away that in previous years wanted to and they were fully booked, the reason we don't bother using our motorhome in the winter was it being so crowded, but living here is not so bad. 🙂
I think with all the people being locked up and itching to be realised they will still be busy, also with all the new regulations about free parking is going to help the situation, there are a few Spanish motorhomers spat their dummies out, saying they will sell the motorhome, someone will buy it so it carries on, 😁 but there are a vast amount of motorhomes in Europe and the UK that will pay whatever the cost. 😎

We had two enquiries yesterday for renting our apartment, first was English that live here for family, the typical what's your best price no weekly cleaning and lining changes for a month, second was Spanish only 3 weeks same period no discounts weekly clean and lining change. 🙂
We don't often turn bookings down, but know what one we prefer. 😁 Bob.

Well obviously doing nothing will make it easier for the Continentals, that includes me, cheers!

Unfortunately we can not leave a club, refuse to pay our sub's and then expect the same rights and benefits as those that do!
Leaving the EU brings benefits and disadvantages, this subject is obviously a disadvantage but don't worry fellow Funster we have our sovereignty back and total control of our boarder's.

Take control of our Borders at the same time?

How come we cant take many many things over to the EU but it appears they can bring what they want and stay for 180 days. Time we had someone at the entry to the UK that applied the same rules to visitors as we face going to Europe. I know we left the club and got what we wanted. But it is a pity the negotiations weren’t agreed before we voted to leave the vote result may have been different. It is a bit like asking someone to say yes or no then asking them the question

180/360 allowed by the uk is probably because its to our advantage, tourists will want to come here between April and September.

I have a cunning plan🤔 to stay for the winter, having not been in the EU for 90days you enter EU and spend 90days there on reaching 90days you then continue with another 90days but these are taken in Lieu, you then leave the EU for the 90days as committed and everyone is happy. you are then ready to complete the cycle again. Simples 😉.................................😂😂
