Hi all, has anyone had problems with fiat 9 spd auto box? We are travelling up through Germany and the other day moving slow in traffic it changed down twice with a real lump, ie not smooth as it was previously, After a while of slow moving congestion got going on an open road and approaching 60mph the eml came on with transmission warning & reduced power/wouldn’t change gear in manual or auto.I pulled of at next exit and motor sounded abnormally noisy. I switched off and had a look for leaks etc, nothing apparent so began looking at handbook. Only thing I found was a transmission overheating warning. I let it cool down for about 15 mins and restarted , it sounded ok but eml still on. Drove off and all good. Eml remained on for next 2 days . On third day it went off on start up. Done around 150 miles since with no problem. I can only think it sensed transmission oil temp too hot, has anyone had similar issues?

Mines only done 14k and I drive it carefully so don’t expect problems. I will investigate further when home next week

Mine has 6.5k now and has performed perfectly : including some long and over 30 degrees air temperature climbs in the Pyrenees recently.

Is this the same box

US but fitted to Dodge Van which is what they sell the Ducato as in US.

I think I read a post by Lenny HB about a 9spd box that was changed due to being delivered with insufficient oil in the box. He may be able to clarify.

The 9 speed has to work particularly hard on the 140 engine due to the lack of torque.
