Hi, anyone know the number of teeth the 5th gear is likely to have on a 2003 2.8JTD Ducato MLGU gearbox?

Try Mike Chubb at No 1 Gear if you can find him, very knowledgeable chap and helpful.
I think he’s based in Chard

coastal motorhomes but the gears are very scarce now I bought the higher set last year and think it was there last set
There are 2 ratio’s for the 5 gear can’t tell you the number of teeth though.
We have the same year Motorhome

I am sure I read lucky members have rotated 180⁰ to where teeth less worn?
If it's the bolt on 5th gear that was around before that year.

Thanks all, seems like there could be different ratio's fitted, I think I'm going to have to take the old gear off and see whats fitted.

I've replaced the 5th gear synchro now, the only fault on the old one I took off, was a spring seemed deformed, the new synchro works fine (finger crossed). The job was pretty easy, took me about 4-5 hours most of which was trying to drive the split pin out of the selector fork. If anyone is doing this, make sure you have a 4mm diameter steel rod about 10cm long to use as a drift, I filed the rod on the end to make a 1.5mm diameter pip about 2mm long, this located the drift onto the split pin and made life a lot easier. The gears themselves were fine, the original problem I had was crunching when selecting 5th, it stayed in gear ok, and my gear ratio was 53 x 31, this is on a 2003 2.8JTD Ducato with an MLGU gearbox.
