Planning a 5 week road trip in France staring 7th April from Calais.
Only taken the motorhome to France once before going along the north coast of Normandy and just into Britainay.
As a rough idea though we would head south from Calais down to the loire valley then on to the Dorgogne may be then to Bordeaux before making our way back to Calais.
Won't be in any rush planning to stay on a mix of aries & campsites.
Want to keep off motorways & toll roads and any towns with the clean air lark as we have a 1995 dirty diesel.
Would appreciate any advice on routes
Places of interest any other hints or tips.
We have the ACIS books & card, aires books, park 4 night & search 4 sites Apps.
Many thanks.

Sounds like you’ve got it covered really, a good satnav will tell you if you enter zones or direct you away from them in the settings.. also it will avoid toll roads too…

If you don’t go into any big cities you’ll be fine, to be honest I don’t have a crit air and have never bothered about the zones and haven’t had a problem yet…🤔

A garmin 760 is what I have and works a treat…

Enjoy your trip…

If you take a look in the journals. (Over to the left click journals, continental tours, view full map) There will be a few ideas on there for you

If you’re not totally committed to the Calais crossing - and possibly one of the party is over 60 - then DFDS Newhaven Dieppe will give you a head start en-route to the lower Loire, and could be less expensive as well.
