Simple question (probably). We have a Wi-Fi, or is it mifi, aerial on the roof of the van. Inside is a hawei unit, so the Chinese can listen, with the above internet with legs SIM card. I’m told by those that know that this doesn’t work other side of channel. Question is can I get round this by connecting to site Wi-Fi?
Don’t get too technical if anyone bothers to answer. If it won’t then I’m not too bothered about speaking to people, the news is generally depressing and sh*t so missing that will be no loss and I will just have to endure the withdrawal symptoms of not reading about you lot. Thanks

Yes it will work but you will be subject to their fair roaming policy which is around 25g though I’m not 100%on that…

So if you are only using it for browsing, messaging and forums then you should be ok, for streaming tv for instance you will need to re-think your SIM card needs…😎

I've got a 24gb one which I've had for ages and need to use up on our next trip in May.

I 'think' its capped to 12gb when roaming but like smiffy, not 100% sure

Gosh they were quick answers. Have carried tv and assorted dvd, though I heard these referred to as old hat the other day, for 1000’s of miles around continent without use. The bars are so nice and drink so cheap it’s rude not to. Re Chinese, hoping to bore a few to death.
Seriously though thanks for useful replies

Pre Brexit, I used the Three with legs sim cards, which were a bit hit and miss through France, but yet worked a treat both in the UK and Spain, so I had to assume that the French were throttling Three's roaming access.

I moved over to Vodafone, with no signal or roaming access problems at all.
It's the poxy roaming allowance that is the biggest problem now, post Brexit.

Cheers,

Jock. :)
