Hi
There's room in my Bessacarr E560 for a second leisure battery. If I put 2 new batteries in and have them connected together, will the built in smart charger through the Sargent unit charge up all 3 batteries in turn ok?
Thanks

NO
you connect the leisure batteries together making ONE battery effectively
so it will charge as it does normally just remember to connect properly

Thank you Madcaravanner.
So the smart charger will charge the vehicle battery then change to charge the 2 leisure batteries as 1. Is this what you are saying.
Thanks again

It should prioritise the leisure batteries.... Its a habitation battery charger.
If its what I'm thinking, though I have little knowledge of them, it will charge the engine battery at a lower rate when the hab batteries are charged.
Unless you are parked for weeks I really can't see the point, an engine battery should be good for a week at least even with an alarm immobiliser.
If you pitch for weeks at the same place you may as well use a caravan.
But of course, everyone has a choice.
