Hi, Found a transformer 230V/24V 360VA in the garage of my Burstner Nexxo T729 (2015). Anyone know where 24V may be used? Will the fridge run from 24V when connected to the mains?

a transformer 230V/24V 360VA
A transformer steps AC voltage up or down .. doesn't convert to DC

is it not a 230vac / 24vdc ? which may have been used as a charger

to confirm , a photo fo data plate please

in anycase.. to answer your question about running the fridge .. No, it will not run on 24v be it ac or dc

Your fridge already has a 230vac mains option.. .. and 12vdc when driving

It's a plain old fashioned 50Hz transformer may be a graetz bridge to create dc have not measured. Cannot understand what's would require 24V ac or dc. Charging is taken care of by the EBL99 controller that seemes to sit in almost every motorhome

it does look like a 24Vdc .. multimeter would confirm .. but no idea what it would or could be used for

Follow the blue and brown wires to see where they go.
Could have been for anything unrelated to the van.

Seem unusual in a Van based Mh. I wonder if a previous owner thought about 24v drom solar becauae the cables and controller can be smaller and/or an inverter can be more efficient? How are your leisure batteries wired? +-+ or +--? Might be worth checking as it may not be standard

No, there are 2 batteries in parallel hence 12V onboard. Even if a previous owner would serialize 2 solar panels that would give up to 40V which can be switched to either 24 or 12V with no big difference in efficiency, although I still do not see the need for a 24V transformer. I have not measured or follow the wires, anyway if I do it later I may lighten the van a couple of kilos if the transformer is unconnected...

Could it have been installed to power a mobility scooter charger or a bike, wheel chair etc?
