I'm a newbie 😜
Hi, everyone πŸ˜ƒ
Anybody organising a 2024 January european tour πŸ‘€ πŸ€”?
Thanks πŸ™‚

January many find their way down to Spain, Benidorm being a favourite destination. Also Morocco πŸ‘

Check the weather and move to suit πŸ‘πŸ˜
How easy is it to move every couple of weeks? Do sites generally have spaces or is it a real pain? I’m thinking Spain Benidorm/ Cartagena areas? Mid Jan to mid March.
It’s just that we don’t fancy 6 or 8 weeks in the same location.
Thanks

Years gone by didn't seem to have many issues but not been since pre COVID so things may not be as easy now. I love Beni but a month would be my limit on stopping in one place. πŸ‘

should be ok but you may find the very popular sites are booked up by the long stay Brits and other Nationals , always spaces somewhere if your prepared to compromise a bit .

We are thinking mid Jan to mid March. Spain or Portugal. Preferably coastal but within a bus ride if inland
We planning a similar trip, leaving on 4th December and returning in March. (Dave and Agnes πŸ™‚)

Mid February to May for us. Initially heading to the Mar Menor, then will make plans depending on how the weather is & how our September jaunt goes 😎

Our maiden trip in the moho…(all planned and booked out stops)…Off to Spain beginning of sept then back through France and home … so hoping all goes well and it gives us the confidence next year to do as many of you do… just book a ferry and see where you end up

It's our first year without the static in France (sold it after 17 years!). We are looking to get away Feb/March but it will be weather and distance dependant. Need to be be back well in time for the Thorpe Le Soken Rally.
As it's our first year without the static, we are looking at the UK in the summer for the first time in a long time, taking advantage of some of the temp pop up CL's, and then mid August until October in the EU, the Boss has chosen Croatia as her destination of choice !

All this talk of planning reminds me about the saying that when "man plans, God laughs".

The beauty of a motorhome in France, Spain and Portugal off season is that there are always places to stop, be it campsites Aires or Camperstops. We never plan or book and just follow the good weather. So one year we intended to get to Spain and Portugal quickly in the Spring. But we stopped for a week in the Loire area of France because the weather was forecast to be good, whereas the Iberian peninsular was having a series of storms. Once the storms died down we headed South.

There are occasionally exceptions that catch us out, such as Benidorm for Christmas, as we found out last Christmas. But we still managed to book a couple of places over the internet with a few day's notice, albeit it meant that we had to change sites. But it all worked out fine and we enjoyed 25C at Christmas time and all the facilities open, as well as the 3 Kings parade.
