Yet again the MH is in Lincoln. We spent a day there 2 weeks ago, within a couple of days I was receiving messages on my app telling me that the started battery was low…again. At the same time the isolation switch for the habitation batteries didn’t isolate anything.
This time the dealer picked it up and it has been back in Lincoln for 10 days. They have found a fault with the B2B that they fitted 2 weeks ago.

Last night I had a message on my app showing that the vehicle is unlocked and a door is open, I spoke to them first thing this morning and was assured that it was in the workshop, unlocked but doors closed. I checked again at lunchtime as Mercedes Me is still sending the same message even though they checked the doors and locked it at lunchtime.

My question is will the message not change until the ignition is turned on, or is the App not working correctly?
Thoughts please
Thanks.

I think the Mercedes - me status messages are independent of the ignition. If you continue to get 'door open' messages it probably is open. Possibly get it checked by a Mercedes Van Service centre.

Does the app have a service mode for when it's being serviced, which would turn off notifications?

The van talks to the Mercedes servers via a mobile signal. The servers then send your app an update. Most vehicles don't tend to send updates too often because it drains the battery. And if it's inside a workshop, it might not be getting a signal. So your alerts might have been the last status update from a while ago. For my car's app, I can force it to refresh the info. It takes about 15 seconds to contact the car and it doesn't always work.

On my Mercedes me app for the car I have to clear the notification (android) otherwise it remains there, it also has a time stamp when the message was sent.

To be fair, I've not had any issues with my Mercedes Me in past 2 years, apart from setting it up initially (Hymer base)

Mercedes Me will sometimes tell me the van is unlocked when it’s on the drive outside and I know it’s locked, and can see the alarm light flashing on the CCTV camera. I wouldn’t worry about it too much.

If it’s the same place that I had warranty work done on a Burstner a number of years ago, you may need to tell them how it works. I called to see how the issues with the awning were progressing to be told it was not started yet as they had been trying to find a fault with the leisure batteries…really? I was told when they went into the van the leisure batteries were flat and even when connecting to hook up they could not get them to charge. But not to worry after 2 days they found a bad connection and everything is fine. I asked if they had actually switched the leisure batteries back on as I had isolated them to prevent them going flat. Oh, how do you do that, it’s not possible as this model no longer has the isolation switch under the passenger seat? I explained if you hold the power button on the control panel for 15 seconds you shall hear the click of the relay and you isolate the batteries, to get it back on you hold the same button for the same period of time….silence, followed by how did you find that out? I read the manual😳
I bet Burstner were billed for 2 days fault finding and subsequent repair of the “fault”

In all my years of owning motorhomes, I have never had much success with repairs at dealerships. Only success has been back at the manufacturers factory. Once at Swift and a few times at N&B in Polch and Schlusselfeld for Morelo. If it’s not going to the factory I do it myself. Far too many times have I put vans into dealerships and it comes back with more issues than it went in with. Getting flashbacks about times at Travelworld…no I’m not going there I can’t even think about it 😂😂
