Has anyone done an upgrade on the latest vans. The reason I ask is that the earlier vans have removable grilles over the speakers, my 2022 van looks as if the grille is integrated unto the panel. See photo.
So before I start to dismantle the entire panel - is it possible to access the speakers without taking the off the door panel, remis blinds to get to the panel screws and all of the other complications involved?

There's a video on YouTube upgrading speakers, it's a bit of a faff if I remember. The basic speakers are pants, we don't bother listening to the radio the sound is so terrible and I can't be arsed upgrading.

This might help.

Thanks Andy. I agree that it's a close run faff/benefit analysis for upgrading. But I'm still on the upgrade route. The guy in the video talked about upgrading but doesn't actually show any of the work on this clip. My hurdle is finding someone who has done it on the latest vans as they have quite different door panels to the earlier vans. I will get there ......

I upgraded the speakers on my previous 2007 Ducato. Still needed to take the door cards off. I put thermal insulation behind that was dense closed cell foam, so it helped with the sound a lot too.

https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/speaker-upgrading.291727/ upgraded to 150mm 3 way pioneer units, added insulation mating and speaker wading and sound is way better. Doors are next but thb we can have higher speakers loud and the dog doesnt suffer when near door speakers. When its warmer will do the same to door speakers though.
It's good that you can at least fettle the upper speakers for now.
I have a pioneer avic1000 head unit, which is fitted as standard on Hobby vans. It's a real shame that they do not upgrade the rubbish standard Fiat door and a pillar speakers during the van conversion.
My door card is the same as yours, and I cannot see a way to just pull the speaker covers off for access. They do seem to be all in one with the card.
The sound is okay for the time being, but turn up the volume and the limitations of the standard speakers can clearly be heard.
I really do want to upgrade, either to the Alpine set up or Eton Ducato specific speakers and tweeters. This will also be a warmer and drier weather job as I have to work outside..
You never know, but between us we may be informing the forum just how to get the Mk 8 van door cards off.......

I found your post during my search for any info regarding removal of the door panel on a Series 8 Ducato. You might be interested in the following video - showing an audio upgrade. Luckily for me it shows all the bolt locations and removal of the door panel. Unfortunately it does confirm that Fiat in their wisdom has chosen to mount the speakers to the internal door frame and so you will have to remove the door panel to get to them. The missing bolt is behind a cover in the middle of the lower half of the panel (not yet checked as only just watched).
Hope this helps.

Yes this help tremendously... I now have a much better idea of what is waiting for me when I upgrade. BUT What a faf to get to the speakers when compared to the earlier series of Ducato's. I suppose that is progress for you....
