Just waved goodbye to MH on flatback. It just would not turn over. All electrics seemed OK both batteries were good. Ignition lights all came on Ok. Nothing when turning key to "start" position. Anybody experienced similar?

I hesitate to say this but you wouldn't have forgotten to switch off your non starter device if fitted, because that is exactly what happens to mine if I fail to disable it.

Yes mine too, have a little fob with two contacts to override, takes 5 secs.

I wish it was so simple. I looked in the handbook. Wish i hadn't. It's on it's way to a garage in Huelva at moment. They have Fiat computer i presume. All is not lost we still have our bikes and the golf course is walkable. A few tapas and some wine tonight will calm me down I hope. Thanks for help!!!

ours is a 2020 plate. In 2021 it failed to start after test drive by Fiat Professional who were sorting a recall . They were convinced it was the non starter. Info from vanbitz showed it was not the non starter and must be Fiat based. Eventually they found a loose lead. I think earth leads have been a problem and many on here suggest adding extra ones.

Its weird all the dash warning lights come as normal,it just wont turn over. I thought immobiliser. Handbook mentions some coding in the key fob. We have vanbitz batt master, panel ,victron and new leisure batt plus big red ball in sky. very annoying. expecting Pelican will call with big bill anytime soon.

Hi,
Had the exact same problem recently. View my previous thread for full story.

MH ended up on a flat bed and taken to Fiat. Totally shocked as working one minute and not the next.

Many years ago we bought a new vw T4 Bilbos Celeste camper van. The insurance insisted on a cat 1 alarm and immobiliser. VW T4’s had a factory immobiliser, but didn’t bother to get it accredited!

Every now and again it either refused to start or even stopped while driving. After a year or two of all and sundry trying to sort it (I was always able to get it going after many repeated attempts) I told the alarm installer to remove the immobiliser. I just had a feeling they were conflicting with each other occasionally with their ever changing codes. No idea if I was right, but it never did it again.

are you staying in it at the garage?

I bet it's a poor/corroded electrical connection to the starter motor.
But the garage will say we spent nine hours and many new parts.

Poor you. But you have just confirmed my relief at trying a caravan for the summer after 25 years motorhoming And maybe we’ll have to go back to one but what goes round comes round and I’ll look for an older solidly built model with no fancy bits that are either inaccessible or impossible to replace for months. So thanks and good luck - it’ll come right with patience and pounds!!

Still watching with baited breath....
Its back! Picked it up from Stellentis in Sevilla. They couldnt find anything wrong. Workshop guy Angel actually started it and drove it off recovery truck.. umm. AXA were brilliant kept us up to date and informed. Previous owner now informs us that the "module" hidden behind the dash under the steering wheel might be the cause. great!! Angel said Fiat couldn't touch or remove non Fiat items. Stellentis were brilliant despite what other people feedback. They contacted us in English by Whatsapp. Very professional service. Auto electrics for dummies ver.3 in english about to be ordered from Amazon. Where did i leave the wire cutters!!!

not sure what a non starter is apart from our MH .I wasn't given any other fobs. The workshop started the vehicle without a problem so didn't do any diagnostics. Is what your mentioning a Fiat device or after market add on.

What did the previous owner say the module was for? 🤔👍

It's an after market security add on. Often linked to phone requiring a code input to switch on ignition. So suspect that is not your issue.

Hes actually been great. It is a tracker with a facility to operate a relay which is on or off cuts power to starter motor. Its by rewire security. It tracks by GPS He's going to try and put us on contract. It might have nothing to do with that but it seems daft to pull it out if it is working correctly and can be used by us

So it was away for around 10 days and they didn't do anything? It's not really that good a service.....

Eight days away, Fiat only had it for one night. Sevilla is 80 miles from us. The workshop couldn't fit it in any earlier. When we got there we could see why!!It was rammed with vehicles of all sizes. Mrs W is off the stress drugs now so we are both happy.
