Any advice. Our motorhome with the above base vehicle had a few hiccups over the last few days. It did it 4 times over 2 journeys. Applied accelerator and just no power, no noise, just dies without stopping. A few seconds later the power kicks back in, any advice?

Brake switch has been known fail / stick on, we had exactly the same issue. Engine won't give power if it thinks the foot brake is being activated which is quite logical. Also easy to press the brake by mistake when on the throttle if you have wide feet / shoes ... not that I have ever done that of course :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Thanks. Did you have to replace anything?

Van was under warranty so Fiat commercial just changed the brake light switch, they knew about the issue when I mentioned it so obviously not rare failure.

Cool thanks, was the actual fault with the Brake Throttle Override (BTO)?

No idea what the BTO is. All the garage said to me was that the brake light switch was sticking on after the brake had been applied and if the brake was on the accelerator would do zip! Once the switch released after a few seconds the engine had power again.

Ok great thank you

Ours did this although it didnt reset until the ignition was switched off/on again .
No fault code , no check engine light , just lost power ....apparently related to acc/brake pressed at the same time .

We found a fix of putting it into neutral and back into gear did a reset on the system if it wouldn't go again.

Thanks all, I will try all of that if it happens again

Are you wearing big boots? Seriously question. I have a comfortmatic and experienced this once. Pretty sure my boot was hitting the brake at the same time I had my foot on the accelerator.

I do generally wear walking shoe style so maybe that. The garage I use are due to sort something else in a few weeks and they said they will just plug the diagnostics in and double check for me

The boot only needs to touch the brake pedal without any noticeable braking.

What happened to the good old "heel and toe"?
Heel on the brake, blip the throttle with the toe (or vice versa) as you double declutch down the gears?
Kids of today....
Definitely toe on brake and heel on throttle for me. I shall have to take my manual toad out and see if I can still do it. Taught myself to heel and toe in my Mum’s Morris 1000 on the drive and into the garage, before I had a license. 😀 Happy days.
