I have an Elddis MoHo, the base vehicle is a 2016 Peugeot Boxer Platform/Chasis 2.2 HDi 110. The airbag warning light is permanently on. The fault code reader reports the following fault: 1.80100 ECU Internal fault 9see attached file). While the vehicle was in storage I had a battery issue where the vehicle battery would not hold its charge. I have resolved that issue by replacing the battery and installing a Sunshine Solar Battery Master. Shortly after the battery issue, the airbag fault developed. I sent the airbag ECU to Crash Data. The module was repaired but around two weeks after the repair, the airbag fault returned. I have heard tales that it is not uncommon for the fault to return after the ECU was repaired at Crash Data. From what I can determine from my research is that this is common for the year of the vehicle. It appears to me that the only way to permanently resolve this is to install a new ECU.

Do any of you good people have any further insight or can advise further?

Im afraid you're correct the only sensible option now is a new ecu, preferably with the new part number. Search for Lenny HB posts with air bag in subject.

By the way Welcome to the Fun.

This is bad news for me as I have a 2016 Majestic 125 and I was only aware it affected the fiats so it’s probably just a matter of time for me then!

If you check the ECU unit ,you will find that it is a fiat part, they are used in all Peugeot boxer bases along with lots of other parts. The cabs and wiring are almost identical.

Majestic 285/Peugeot here. Airbag ECU went last year so had replacement fitted. They are Fiat units but you only get a 1 year warranty on non Fiat, 2 years if fitted to a Fiat based motorhome.

Just had to have ours replaced.
Assume they fitted the newer part number which hopefully doesn't suffer from this annoying and expensive problem?

I have a Majestic 195 on 65 plate. Had my ecu sent off 3 times without any luck. Fortunately 2nd and 3rd whilst still under first reset warranty however never solved problem as light either went out for a short while or not at all so gave up.
Finally 2 weeks ago took it to an auto electrician company who told me crash resetting ecu won’t solve the problem as internal fault won’t be reset. New ecu fitted and programmed to Moho at a cost of over £500. All ok so far but always cross my fingers every time I start her up lol

Well at least you’re sorted even if still in fingers crossed mode. So far not had an issue but who knows next time I switch on the ignition…..probably tempted fate now so watch this space lol
