Have just refilled water system after winter
Drain down and found that the shower dribble is a lot worse than last year and will require sorting. I have never had the pleasure of dealing with water systems but it appears that a replacement cartridge is required. Premium have explained how to remove the lever so that I can identify the size ( either 25mm or 35mm) on the Comet system. So my initial question is, are all similarly sized cartridges compatible or do i need to get an exact match? On the basis I don’t have to dismantle any more of the shower, is the extraction of the cartridge straight forward or do I need a special tool? Any advise or pointers would be much appreciated!

I think most cartridges are similar if not it will be easy to get one, it’s a very simple job. If you’re not sure YouTube has loads of videos.

Here’s a link to cartridges just Incase you’re not sure what it looks like.

You may well find your cartridge just needs nipping up a little tighter.
Excuse my ignorance but how do I do that?

Remove operating lever, then you will see a large nut. You may or may not have to unscrew a chrome dome to access the nut. But then try just tightening it bit, and see if leak goes. You have to do all the above anyway to swap the cartridge or measure it, as the nut I’ve mentioned above is what holds the cartridge in place. Do all the above works with water pump, off and pressure removed from system.
