Our MH is based on a 2010 Fiat Ducato. Sometimes, when driving, I struggle to hear the Audible warning when using the direction indicators. In town not much of a problem because the self cancelling of the indicators kicks in.
Changing lanes, the indicators stay on and with my chosen driving position, I don't always spot the visible indications on the dash, and have to be reminded by the co-pilot.
Anyone know any simple gizmos that will increase the audible indicator signal?

One thing that crossed my mind was the fact that I have a tow bar with electrics and when a lighting board is plugged in there is a much stronger audible warning when indicating. Would it be as easy as leaving a plug in the 7 pin socket on the towing electrics, perhaps with a simple circuit built into the plug?

PS you will have to shout any replies in case I can't hear them :whistle:

It’s good to know that these are “Built by my strusted and quilfied staff.”

It is good to know that and the upshot of it is you're not buying an "inferia" model!:whistle::p

Being serious (aye right!) for a mo, it was only to point out to Barry there are louder aftermarket audible warning devices out there. As to which one???
Father had one fitted as part of his towbar \ electrics set-up donkey's years ago (pre-canbus?). Wonder if @namwaldog set-up is maybe similar in that when a lighting board is connected it uses a different (louder) buzzer?

Deaf and blind I'd give up driving if I were you Barry.:D2

You could fit another towing buzzer in line with the vehicle indicators, I don't think it will cause any problems with the CANBUS, but you would need to bypass the connection with a switch when towing if you wanted to make sure the trailer indicators were working.

Or you could rewire the exsisting trailer buzzer with a changeover switch/switches so it is connected in series with the vans lights when not towing.

Best to speak to an Auto electrician as you may need to bypass the bulb failure circuits.

I had the same problem & fitted a buzzer nut as someone who uses the indicators a lot + hazards for reversing & when stopped it drives you mad.I eventually had to change it for a 12v led light .Far better

Wired two very short lengths of cable between nos. 3 & 1 and 3 & 4 connectors to form two circuits for the left and right indicators.

Reassembled the plug, blanking off the cable entry sealing gland to make it watertight .

Pushed the plug into the lighting socket at the tow hitch.

And it seems to work with an audible beep when using the indicators.(y)

Won't suit everyone as you need tow bar electrics fitted in the first place.
