2008 3ltr Fiat Ducati engine

The engine on my van has had a catastrophic decompression failure, only 25psi on 1 cylinder, none hitting the target they should be at. Still don’t know what caused this!
The garage I’m at can not find a recon engine for a source they trust so are recommending a new engine, basically £7000. Does anyone know of a trusted place for a recon engine

I'd get the garage to either take the head off or poke an endoscope in each cylinder to find the cause. May only need a new head gasket or a top or bottom half engine.
