Hi guys, my uncle has a motorhome that currently isn't charging the aux battery, i can't test the main hookup as we haven't got a lead yet ,but have put my multimeter on the aux battery terminals then started the van, the voltage stays the same, i'm not sure if the smart charger located under the rear seats is actually the split charge system as i cant find any obvious relays within the engine bay,the main vehicle battery is located in the cab under the passenger floor area, any ideas guys ??

what volatge did you meter report

VSR fuse somewhere maybe. Inline either at the cab battery end or leisure end

I didn't actually take the aux battery off but it didn't change from 9 volts, it was charged before this so presume the system is faulty at some point

I have removed the cover from the passenger floor and have checked every possible fuse, which was fine, under the seat at the rear is some sort of charger system but thats been changed to, cant see anything obvious there

if its 9v, its 99% knackered pal if lead acid.
take the leads off the battery and try them with the meter alone

But it charges up fine say for instance the battery was disconnected , when the vehicle is running the battery terminals should show 12-14v ???

There may be a relay/ fuse linked to the D+ signal for the split charging , behind the drivers seat at the bottom of the driver door B pillar behind a removable panel ,this is also normally the link from the Peugeot cab to the habitation side electrics. (do you know if the fridge is cooling , on 12v , , with the engine running ,as that also uses the D+ signal for 12v operation)
Which model Autoquest Motorhome is it ?

The split charge relay is proably inside the 12v distribution unit. At 9v the battery is shot.
