hello we have a ducato 2.8jtd with an alternator problem, its over charging it doesn't happen all the time only when doing 60mph it will flick on the traction control abs and handbrake warning lights intermittently and the charging rate will jump up to as much as 19v.
the van has a b2b charger called an Amperor system with 2 x 75w solar panels,.
what type of alternator should this be, someone said it should be a sensing one as it is fitted with 2 batteries from new with it being an a class.
this van had a new alternator on when we purchased it in October from Glossop's Caravans, I had to retighten all the batteries within 2 weeks as they hadn't done and since then we have had this problem.
oh and last weekend it stayed off until we had done 40 miles and then when we went to restart the battery light stayed on, restarted it again and the light stayed off this time, so something isn't right.
