Fiat Ducato according to the post headingWhat's the base van?
Thanks for the info, that's pretty much what I thought. His other concern was left hand drive and engine under cab so I've still got a bit of persuading to do!Nearly all of the stuff that could break down will be provided by other (mainly international) companies like Fiat, Dometic, Truma, Thetford etc. That does not mean that their spares will be difficult to find, but that it because of the age of the vehicle, not because it's a Weinsberg. And older German vans have generally a better build quality than those built elsewhere of the same age.
The two main things you need to look at on all motorhomes of that age is water penetration into the body and rust on the chassis.
Yes Fiat DucatoWhat's the base van?
Actually no I've just checked. The listing says Fiat but on further investigation it's Komet.Yes Fiat Ducato
Komet will be Weinberg's name of the model. It will be built on a Fiat Ducato base.Actually no I've just checked. The listing says Fiat but on further investigation it's Komet.
Lots on here are quite happy to use LH drive. Thanks for the info, that's pretty much what I thought. His other concern was left hand drive and engine under cab so I've still got a bit of persuading to do!
Parts still seem in plentiful supply. 5th gear may be the later bolt in adaptor. Add 0.5 litre of oil extra and try and avoid 5th gear in first 15 minutes driving to I allow 5th to be splashed with oil.Yes Fiat Ducato
