2 Leisure Batteries (1 Viewer)

Hi we have a 2010 Autotrail frontier navajo, I want to fit 2 leisure batteries. In the battery compartment there is a lead to connect a 2nd battery.
Are there and setting to change on the control plan to increase the ah settings, or does the system just deal with it?

Are they two new leisure batteries or are you intending adding a new one to an old one?

What size batteries are they in terms of Ah?

If the original is more than a year or so old it's best to replace both.
Make and amp hour don't matter but age does. An old battery will drag a new one down to its capacity.

No I haven't, don't know anything about them.
I do have 2 batteries already.

Fit two 130ah. They are only a bit taller

Hi, I have a navajo with 2 lithiums fitted, regardless of that if you just fit 2 agm,s etc all you need to do is alter the settings in the sargent panel above habitation door for the correct AH of the combined batteries you have fitted, if you go down the lithium route this is not so critical as this will be bypassed by the new system, or mine was anyway.

It will depend on which control panel is fitted. If it's the colour one ( can't remember the model number) then I understand that does have ah setting. On my past autotrail (Apache 700) 2012 it didn't have that feature as a mono panel was fitted.

If its a sargent ec480 which I believe is fitted to the navajo,s then the Battery AH setting will require changing to suit the new battery configuration which is easy enough to do.

Thanks all for reply, its a sargent ec500 I can't see anywhere a ah setting.
Advice and help appreciate.

The ec500 is the unit in the locker behind the driver, the ec480 is above the habitational door and this is where you make the adjustments within the menu that you require, no adjustments can be made on the ec500...either call or email sargent technical and they will email you the full instructions which will tell you how to not only alter the setting you are after but many other things which could be useful in the future like disabling water level alarm etc etc.

Hi i spoke to Sargent and they helped over the phone with that ah setting, but do you know what the ah start point is please?
I didn't ask for instructions as the bloke said he could help over the phone, now stuck.

The AH set point is best set when you know your batteries are fully charged then set at 100%...this is done by briefly pressing the centre button and it takes the reading up by 10% each press, if you go over 100% it just rolls over to 10% so just keep pressing until back up to 100% again..hope this makes sense.

Sorry, the above is AH start point as you asked for not AH set point as I first put, I'm assuming this is what you are after?

The 700 may not have the panel that allows the AH setting.
My previous 2012 model did not, unless they have upgraded the model.
That setting is on the full colour control panel

See how you get on, if you get sargent to email all info you don't need batteries at full charge as they give you a guide as to what input the % as against a specific battery voltage, I have tried finding my emailed instructions but not having much look at the moment.

Found attachment but it won't open, possibly corrupted, call sargent technical dept and ask for the manual/operating instructions for both ec500 and ec480.

That looks like they have sent you just one page? they sent me an 18 page document which is titled main dealer or advanced user instructions and goes through absolutely everything, ask and see if you can get this document.
