we have 2 Brompton, early ‘90s 5 speed tourers that we haven’t used for a while and are selling. The bikes are both black and in excellent condition. They have been fitted with the latest rear frame locks and both have rear carriers, dynamo lights, which we have never used and may need checking. Gears are Sturmey Archer 5 speed hubs and work fine. Included are a genuine Brompton front metal basket and soft bag, a spare tyre and 3 or 4 new inner tubes and 2 bike covers.
The bikes are brilliant, fold up easily and fit into the bike covers. They are easy to ride and the only reason we are selling is that we are being a bit more adventurous in our cycling and have bought 2 all terrain bikes and a tandem!
If anyone is interested on one or both, I can post photos of the bikes.
We are currently in Brittany but will be returning to the U.K. at the end of August for a couple of weeks and will be in Bury St Edmunds to start with, then down to Folkestone on our way to the tunnel.
I have the original receipt ( bought for me by my Sister and her partner) and handbooks for the bikes and accessories.
Looking for £400 each.

If I remember rightly the frame size is slightly smaller on the older Bromptons, I tried one locally and must admit it was a lovely ride, and the 5 gears were great.

I had a later Brompton too, I think the frame sizes are the same, but the early ones had an adapter on the sear post that moved the saddle closer to the handlebars. I have removed the adapter on one because of this ( but kept it) and the bike feels right now.
They are great to ride though.

I knew I wasn't dreaming ... they changed the frame length in 2004 ...

Just in case anyone is interested, here’s a few photos of the bikes taken last week.
