Just starting out
Do I open the valve or shut the valve on bottles before filling with gas using gaslow?
Appreciate the help folks.

A few other points when filling new cylinders for the first time only fill to about 50%.

When fill them the next time to100% when the pump slows down stop filling otherwise it can cause problems with the 80% cut off valve.

Also after each fill rotate the cylinder use this helps prevent problems with the cut off valve.

Wear gloves. Don't be shy, ask the assistant if you're not feeling confident.

Make sure that you press the GREEN "Fill" button NOT the RED "Emergency Stop" button!

Did this once in France and caused all the fuel pumps to shut down. Je suis extrêmement désolé was the best I could offer.

Luckily when i did that in Spain it only turned off the LPG pump  a very nice English speaking attendant came and reset the pump for me.

I read the guide that Stoosal posted up. Feeling fine about filling the bottles. Just a little trepidation, but I`m sure most of the now seasoned folk were like that once. I`ll be fine.... I hope...

If it’s your first time don’t be alarmed by the sound when you de-pressurise the pump - frightened the life out of me 1st time! NEVER put a hand forward of the guard sleeve!

I yes I’m afraid I did this in Germany I wasn’t very popular what a plonker I thought🥴

My better half has trepidation of new things and change too! I’m a tad more dive in head first! With certain things, like flammable gas it’s a good thing to be cautious! 👍🏻

You will be fine, as you’ve thought about it properly! ✔️

Sorry, but you reminded me of… ;)

What I find annoying is that every pump seems slightly different, same principle but different. As already stated turn off valve if not already turned off.

Turn off valves.
Keep pressing the go button. It may take a while before gas gets to the pump to register, depends on how far tank is from pump and when it was last used. Also keep pressing throughout the fill. If you raise your hand even a fraction you can turn the pump off. I find it easier to use my hand not finger or thumb.

6 years since I installed GasLow.
I have yet to find two pumps that operate the same way.
Every pump is different, and you have to figure out how each one works.
