18 year old jailed

No respect for anyone including their selves.. The soft culture and the luvvies have not helped.. IMO.
After the clapping Thursday night for all the wonderful people putting their lives literally on the line to help us I sincerely hope all this PC shit goes out of the window.
My son is a police officer, he has, as most, not really said much about his role as such because their hands are completely tied and the PC brigade are always there to criticise.
I’ve seen, even recently on this forum, criticism of the police and yes I completely understand there are bad amongst them but give them a break.

The OP's case could almost fall under potential murder. A deliberate act intended to cause distress with the possible outcome of death. Are these people really my countrymen?
There are bad people in all countries we aren't alone. I also though feel the same way sometimes

Could you please not mention the Mansfield bit because I come originally from the backside of Nottinghamshire
Back in '69 as an Army Apprentice I hitch hiked near Mansfield, got picked up by police, the charge read "Did walk upon a special road called the M1 Motorway". To be fair to them the first police car picked me up and took me to the services and explained it was illegal to hitch on a motorway, the second car that picked me a few miles later was less leniant saying " You do know we have got radios." Still got the charge sheet, with its built in carbon copy backing. Remember carbon copy?

It is not a new behaviour pattern.

Anyone who has watched TV series following police/paramedics/firefighters can see abusive and threatening behaviour by a small section of society is a daily occurrence. Their lack of respect for anyone but themselves is very evident. We shouldn’t be too surprised when that attitude is displayed to members of the public.

It is usually the case that such behaviour is demonstrated towards those who are least able to defend themselves, such as the elderly, or those who must practice restraint, eg emergency workers/NHS staff. As long as 20 years ago a firefighter who was operating the pump at a house fire was beaten unconscious by a bunch of 7 youths in my own area. The other firefighters, dealing with the fire were unaware of what had happened until their water supply disappeared.

The Police did a good job and traced four of them. When asked why they had done it they said that they had been feeling bored and it was a bit of fun!

It is virtually impossible for people of a “normal” mentality to understand the mind-set of some who demonstrate such behaviour. The spitting and coughing is just another manifestation of their attitude.

It is difficult to blame the Police for the drop in standards of conduct. They do their best, with limited resources then charges are dropped or very lenient sentences are passed.

.... And that's where it needs to start Mew.

The courts should pass firmer sentences and if the law says they can't then change the blasted law.

If the virus does break down society, we may still have these bustards in a room one at a time, with a load of angry people. The story of the fireman upset me. His killers are COWARDS. They would have been scared witless if it had been a one to one.

Getting angry now. I'!ll go and make you a virtual coffee. :(

I often wonder if bringing back National Service would change behaviour.

Personally I think it would.

These pond life types would not have done their despicable crime if they had been taught about respect and discipline. If they are not taught it by their parents or teachers, then maybe the army would have more success.

PS No,I’m not a Daily Mail reader;)

In that instance the firefighter survived the beating.

However, in Cardiff, at about the same time, a man started a fire in a community centre and placed two propane cylinders in the loft space above the door. As two firefighters entered the fire one of the cylinders exploded killing one of them outright.

The man was caught because on the same evening he was heard bragging, in his local Pub, about what he had done, ie setting the fire and the cylinders. At that time the news about the firefighter being killed hadn’t been released so he was unaware of the consequences of his action. He was reported to the Police by horrified locals.

Once again his explanation was that he did it “for a bit of a laugh”.

He chose the time of his incarceration to get free care in these troubled times.

They need to give out jail time to some of these people that have the impression that the gov guide lines don't matter to them .

These sorts of people have been around forever. I dealt with similar 30 years ago including youths breaking into an ambulance while it was attending a serious RTC.

That reminds me of the Jayne Mansfield joke

Oh no, you've made me remember Derek and Clive, the worst job I ever had. Don't search youtube for this if you are of a sensitive disposition or easily offended.

The 30 year old who was just called a passer by The Guardian, who went to their aid . was called same on BBC news report , as if they didnt know who he was .
They all knew he was "Tommy Robinson also known as Stephen Yaxley-Lennon "
no bias ?

Why don't we just assume his spitting was like puting his hand up- TO ACT AS A GUINEA PIG FOR CORONAVIROUS VACCINATION TRIALS- He would certainly be put to good use ::bigsmile:

Our daughter is an NHS worker. At the moment she is walking to and from work, about 3 miles each way, to avoid using public transport. The walk home is really freaking her out: cars speeding, weaving in and out; people on motorbikes doing wheelies (this road is the only access to the hospital from the town and the nearby motorway and is used by all the ambulances going there), groups of youths coming towards her and crossing over when she does the same. Her life is stressful enough at the moment. She doesn’t deserve or need the extra stress.

Instead of using drones to follow people out for a walk, they should be using them to target these idiots.

It sort of makes the case for National Service. Either they will come out as reformed characters or be judged as completely unsuitable for normal society and institutionalised.

Yes bring back national service, my old Grandad reckoned that would solve most of the problems with idiots and morons. ?

Or come out as idiots trained in the use of deadly weapons? Hmm..... keep our services professional, please.

There must have been just as many idiots in the past yet people who did it still go on about how we ought to reintroduce it. Personally I think if we ever did there ought to be an option of the military or humanitarian aid

Most courts though out Western Europe have beenclosed to minimise the spread of CV. Yet we keep them open to lock up mindless thugs for spitting. Something doesn't sit right with this. I wonder how long they will stay open?
