I’m a newbie
Hi, we have a 12v TV in our motorhome which will not power up (tv led comes on, but picture won’t come on). The TV works fine when the Moho is connected to a mains supply or we have the engine running. Leisure battery reads around 12.7v off grid and 13.7v on mains or with engine running. Do I need to replace the leisure battery, buy an additional battery or is there a device that I could insert inline that would step up the 12.7v to 13.7v when off grid?

What model number is tv?

Try cutting off the 12V plug and buying a new better one. I have done this on two TVs - the factory supplied 12v plugs were awful quality inside and live wire was barely soldered at all. Before changing TB would randomly turn off or not turn on. New plug and problems disappeared.

Maybe try running a bigger cable to tv, I had a problem where 12volt tv would start flashing after a couple of hours use, fitted bigger cable and that sorted it, voltage drop was the problem.

Get your multimeter out and measure voltage at what ever you plug the lead in to without engine running then measure voltage with engine running, then repeat at the tv end of lead.
post your findings

Never thought about voltage drop on DC over that distance, but worth checking voltage at end point as others have stated, thanks, will report back when I get back to it next weekend

One of the advantages of lithium batteries is that they run with a higher voltage; even when at lower state of charge.
Would changing to Lithium be compatible with the existing charger unit or would this need changing too?

Does your TV display the voltage? I press display on mine and it'll tell me what voltage it's getting. Save faffing about with a multimeter.
