I need to find a 12v supply to wire in a new skylight fan, nearest wiring is the supply to the bathroom light, question is, on hook up, does the lighting circuit use power from leisure battery whilst charging or does it change over to 230 when connected to hook up?

does the lighting circuit use power from leisure battery whilst charging

The lighting will be 12v and use power from the habitation battery, whether it is on charge or not.
On hook-up, there are 3 things that could change

You fridge may be set to use 240 mains (at 2007 van, probably manually by yourself)
If you have a 3 pin 240v socket fitted, that will work
The on-board charger will start to charge the habitation battery giving you a longer time with your lights on.

Thanks

It may be worth removing the outer frame of the skylight. Some makers run the wiring incase the customer wants added extras
Thanks, replacing the whole skylight due to damage, no wiring in place, but there is trunking already built in so assume this was in case of installing an electric fan.

Easy for you then...I just fitted a Maxxfan...there wasn't a pre-installed trunking or cables...I had to make one through the insulation, not an easy task...but I achieved it without any problems.
Check out YouTube, some great videos on installing fans..
