I'm new to it
Hi, as the title suggests I'm having problems with my 12v supply. Ive narrowed it down to the fuse board which is definitely faulty.
The fuse-board is a Calira VB-05 and my motorhome is a 2008 Weinsburg/Knaus Imperallie. What has happened is the green relay has burned (I could smell it ) and is not switching over to switch on the 12v supply when the main switch on the panel is turned on. If I manually switch it over by flicking the little green tab on the top of the relay it works ok but will not switch from the panel even though everything else comes on and works ok. Also if I put the fuse in nearest to the green relay and manually flick the relay this causes it to burn as I think its tracked over and damaged that too.
My question is as I see it I have 2 options either find a replacement fuse board ( Calira VB-05 ) or replace the whole lot ( fuse-board , charger and control panel ) as they all talk to each other with maybe a newer system. Can this be done and could you suggest somewhere that could possibly fix the existing or supply new equipment ? Thankyou.

Can't help. Just to say that although we have same named motorhome, my electrics are completely different.

I think they fitted what they had to hand at the time Clive
If you get a chance would you send me a pic of your fuse board, panel and charger ? Thanks.

Here you go - Thanks I've noticed I've 30A fuse in a marked 15A slot. Not had a problem in all the time I've had it - was it for a reason or just the only spare fuse at the time changing it next time I'm pulling up the false floor in the wardrobe.

Thanks Clive, very similar and all made by the same firm. I think I’m going to renew the whole lot with a Sargent system as Calira are no longer trading. There will be a few challenges and a few new cables to be run but I think I’m up to the task.

Hi.
I have the same board in my Knauss motorhome and have had continuing and worsening problems. My auto electrician has managed to get some functionality on most of the things it controls;- fridge etc.

The relay with the green switch has completely zapped. I cannot even move the switch. I think I have been able to identify the part as being manufactured by Gruner. These only seem to be available to manufacturers. The second hand ones I have located are ridiculously priced.

I too was to thinking of replacing the whole system and wondered how you got on? Did you install the Sargent system and, if so, how did you get on?

I have attempted to get companies to advise on replacing this board but they seem reluctant to offer their boards as a solution to the problem.

Hi, I ended up sending the board off to Germany to be repaired. They did a fantastic job on the very same fault as yours plus they check the rest of the board out and repair where necessary.
The cost was about €200 plus £35 postage to get it over there. They are ex employees of the original firm that made the boards so know them inside out. This is their website

Just to add the man to email for initial contact is Bernhard Pressl as he speaks very good English.
