I have no idea if the unit is any good but looking at the specs it draws 16A/H on auto and 42A/H on max.
Seems like a lot of amps to run it ?

They take a lot of juice so large battery bank plenty of solar and or ehu use.
I note also it says for vans up to 6m.

Kingingit on youtube installed a12v one with a promise of a review couple of years back but review didn't follow so that says a lot.

To be totally realistic any air-conditioning unit worth its salt is going to use a LOT of juice. That's okay if you have lots of battery power and the ability to recharge it in between uses, otherwise you really need to be on EHU.

I removed our aircon unit as in 10 years I can only ever recall needing it and being on hookup twice (we're not fans of campsites). I replaced it with a Maxxair unit - admittedly not aircon but certainly powerful enough to get a breeze going through the van and it runs very economically on 12v. (And I got the cost of the Maxxair back when selling the A/C unit!).

By the way the aircon came with the van when we bought it pre-loved, I wouldn't have splashed out for one.
