Well I doubt this group will be as popular as others but I think it has a direct link to camping at least.
I've been using paraffin stoves and lamps for camping for years but since we started caravaning then MTHing I just collect now.

Not a Paraffin lamp or a Classic. We carry a petrol "Tilley" with us everywhere we go in the van. Well, we call it a Tilley, but it's a Coleman Northstar. It lights up a massive area and the Hiss is wonderful.

Yeah Coleman do a proper job with stoves and lamps. Well made kit and gives off a bit heat.

I know very little about lamps.

But what I do know is my dad half inched a few tilleys from British Rail. I got some mantles, starters and paraffin but failed dismally (I think it was putting on the mantles that the main failure on my part came from)

I have no idea how many remain, possibly only 3 or 4. But I am quite willing to give them all away in return for a working one (basically put the mantle in)

I m off to my mums tomorrow and will take a look if anyone is interested in taking them off my hands. (I seem to remember a couple of hurricane lamps as well)

We are based near Guildford

Those old British rail lamps are quite collectable, stick em on eBay see what you get. Use the money to buy a working one. If you don't want hassle of fettling your lamp you can't beat a modern Coleman as above for easy use whilst out in MH.
